Gary Ford Spector is an experienced criminal defense attorney, licensed in both the State of Arizona and the State of Illinois for over 40 years.  

 

Gary has represented thousands of individuals charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses over the past 40 years. His extensive experience consists of trying serious and complex cases before both federal and state court juries. In addition to his thousands of individuals represented in Arizona, Gary has successfully provided criminal representation for many individuals in numerous jurisdictions in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Mr. Spector’s criminal experience is broad. He has defended and has represented individuals at trial facing the Death Penalty and has represented clients in a number of the most serious and challenging narcotics cases in the history of Arizona. Many of Mr. Spector’s cases have appeared on national and local media outlets over the past four decades. Gary has successfully argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

 

Upon graduating from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1984, Mr. Spector returned to Arizona and was employed by the Santa Cruz Attorney’s Office as a Deputy County Attorney. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Gary was made responsible for, and tried numerous serious and diverse felony matters ranging from first degree murder to the most serious of sex related offenses.  Due to his success as a prosecutor in the handling of those matters, he was awarded the distinction of being named Arizona Prosecutor of the Year for Santa Cruz County by the Arizona Prosecuting Attorney’s Advisory Council.  

 

Upon his decision to leave the Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office in January 1989,  Mr. Spector established The Law Offices of Gary Ford Spector in Tucson, Arizona and Chicago, Illinois. He then, and since, devoted his practice to defending those charged with primarily serious felony cases in both the federal and state courts in Arizona and Illinois. Additionally, Mr. Spector, for almost 20 years, provided legal representation to the Mexican Consulates of both Douglas, Arizona and Nogales, Arizona.  

 

Gary is fluent in Spanish and provides legal representation to English and Spanish speakers alike.
